Economists and commentators from the 11am newsletter, Petr Král and Miroslav Zámečník, are launching a new podcast, Král Miroslav. It will focus on economics, money and the political context, which they want to explain clearly but without oversimplifying. The first episode will be released on 2 April 2026.

The business newsletter 11am.cz is launching a new podcast Král Miroslav, featuring its distinctive personalities Petr Král and Miroslav Zámečník. The project is built on the format of an author duo, which is occasionally joined by guests.

The podcast will cover economic and political topics, with an emphasis on their wider context and impact. The authors’ ambition is to make complex developments understandable beyond the expert community, while still offering sufficient depth.

“We will explain even the most complex economic and political connections of today’s world cleverly, clearly and perhaps even entertainingly,” the authors say.

The playful name Král Miroslav combines the surname of one of the authors with the first name of the other. It also refers to the wise king from the fairy tale The Proud Princess.

Building on the 11am newsletter

The podcast builds on the content of the 11am newsletter, which focuses on key information about the economy, geopolitics, technology and markets. It is published every weekday and offers a selection of five key events and trends, in the context of their impact.

The newsletter is aimed above all at managers, investors and others who need quick orientation in a complex information environment and quality information to make sound decisions. It is built on a team of editors with experience at international agencies such as Bloomberg and Reuters, and on commentary and analysis from practising experts.

Authors with long experience

Petr Král works as an economic commentator for the 11am newsletter. Before that, he spent more than 25 years at the Czech National Bank, where from 2018 to 2025 he headed the monetary section. As chief economist of the CNB, he was responsible for preparing the materials for the Bank Board’s monetary policy decisions.

Miroslav Zámečník is a Czech economist and publicist who regularly comments on global and Czech economic trends for the 11am newsletter. He previously served as a member of the Government’s National Economic Council (NERV), where he took part in anti-crisis measures. Since 2001 he has worked as a consultant in financial restructuring, reorganisations and mergers and acquisitions. He was previously head of the Centre for Economic Analysis in President Václav Havel’s office, or the Czech Republic’s representative at the World Bank.

New episodes will be published every 14 days, always on a Thursday. The podcast will be available on the main platforms, including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, České podcasty, YouTube and Opinio.
