iSport Fantasy is one of those heart projects, both for football fans and for the development team behind it. Now we bring great news: iSport Fantasy is launching as the first Czech fantasy league with its own mobile app, for both Android and iOS.

iSport Fantasy is one of the projects we are truly proud of. The first version of our fantasy league was created in record time. After the launch, the development team quickly implemented user feedback, optimised the back end of the application and then developed the league further with new features. The iSport editorial team publishes special articles about the fantasy league and a dedicated video show, and very effectively keeps linking Fantasy with its content and communication. Thanks to this, 16 thousand coaches, as we call our players, have already signed up for the first season.
We planned for mobile use from the start of the project, so optimising for phones was a priority even within the web application. Usage statistics confirmed that most coaches prefer to play the fantasy league on their phones. That is why we set out to develop our own mobile app, or rather two, for Android and for iOS.
Different devices, one Fantasy
We expect the iSport Fantasy mobile app to become very quickly the most important place where our coaches play the fantasy league. We wanted to give our coaches the best possible app, with maximum comfort and speed, so in development we chose the more expensive and more complex path of native apps. Instead of the usual shortcuts in the form of various frameworks, we decided to develop a pair of apps tailored to our coaches’ devices, in Kotlin for Android and in Swift for iOS.
Our mobile developers Michael Roman and Filip Bodnár took great care to make iSport Fantasy not only look good and be easy to handle on mobile, but also invested a lot of effort in optimising it so that it does not take up unnecessary space on the phone, download too much data or drain the battery.
At the same time, it is essential for us that iSport Fantasy works exactly the same way on the website, the mobile version of the website, the Android app or the iOS app. Wherever the coach launches it, it will always be one and the same iSport Fantasy.
For the community, with the community
We started working on the mobile app last September, when it was confirmed that the primary place where iSport Fantasy coaches play is their mobile phone. We began with a graphic design that has a bolder look than the website. In early December we had the first version of the Android app ready, and we began testing it directly with the community, with selected coaches. And now we are officially launching the app on Android and iOS.
A great inspiration for us is the Premier League mobile app, which 11.5 million users play, but iSport Fantasy takes its own path in ergonomics, design and in rules tailored to the local top football competition.
Fantasy is a project we believe in and plan to develop over the long term. Launching the app is only the beginning for us, because our job is to look after an amazing community of coaches who live the game just as we do. And we believe this community will grow even further thanks to the mobile app. We have many novelties prepared for them this year, some still within this season. And of course we will launch them on all platforms at the same time.
