Published under the CNC Books imprint, Jaromír Jágr’s biography JÁ68 was written with the editorial team of the Sport daily over more than a decade. The most famous Czech hockey player reveals what kept him moving when others were already ending their careers. Over more than 500 pages, he describes not only his career but also faith, discipline and the moments when he had to find himself.

The first and only official biography of Jaromír Jágr, running to more than five hundred pages, offers a complete overview of the records, statistics and moments that defined his exceptional career. But anyone who expects JÁ68 to be about hockey will be surprised. Jágr writes about life beyond the boards. He also returns to the places that shaped him, from Kladno through Pittsburgh to his stints in Russia. He speaks openly about women, money, fame and visits to casinos. Above all, however, he writes about his inner mindset, which allowed him to play at full intensity even after turning forty.

The book reveals his view of discipline, the body and faith. In a conversation with Mario Lemieux, his former teammate and role model, he returns to moments that shaped him more than goals. People who accompanied him along the way also get space, in particular his mother Anna and physiotherapist Pavel Kolář, who describes how Jágr thinks about training and recovery.

Thirteen years of work

Jaromír Jágr worked on the book with Lukáš Tomek, editor-in-chief of Sport and the iSport.cz website, and journalist Zdeněk Janda. They prepared it together over thirteen years. The result is a personal account from an athlete who never accepted mediocrity.

Nguyen Phuong Thao took the photographs that accompany Jaromír Jágr’s story, and Bára Kočí was responsible for typesetting and graphic design. We are publishing the book under the CNC Books imprint, which also produces other lavish titles that combine strong stories with top-quality production. JÁ68 is already available on the official website www.ja68.cz, where it is also available exclusively with gifts and the option of a signature. It can, however, also be bought in all bookshops.

The book is published in the Sport daily’s edition and is available for pre-order at www.ja68.cz.
